Production of High Quality Toothbrushes on a Milacron Injection Molding Machine

Milacron Holdings Corp. (NYSE: MCRN), a leading industrial technology company serving the plastics processing industry proudly announce their upcoming participation with Zahoransky at Interbrush 2016. Milacron technologies will be on prominent display in Zahoransky’s booth – 4.1.9.
A price focused starter solution for the cost-effective production of two-component toothbrush handles is one of the highlights at the ZAHORANSKY booth. The unit in full production will be shown at the Interbrush 2016 trade fair and consists of a Milacron Magna T Servo 150 Injection Molding machine with a clamping force of 1,500 kN and an 8-cavity mold of the Basic Line platform made by ZAHORANSKY Formenbau.
The Magna T Servo series was first shown in Europe at Fakuma 2015. This precise standard toggle injection molding machine is available with clamping forces ranging from 500 kN to 5,500 kN. It is a high-value, well priced injection molding solution with the latest generation of energy-efficient servo motors. The result of this servo technology is an outstanding machine dynamic with high reproduction accuracy. The toggle mechanism has been designed for fast cycle times. The fixed platens have been carefully designed through the use of Finite Element Analysis and therefore offer minimum platen deflection. The fully guided ejector cross guarantees an even load transmission. Both factors minimize mould stress and enhance the quality of the injection parts.
This product also focuses on lowering heat development, promoting longer life of the hydraulic components and enhanced hydraulic oil life while reducing cooling water consumption. These measures to cut back on heat load are good for the environment, save resources and reduce energy consumption.
The vertical injection unit required for the second component (TPE) is provided by ZAHORANSKY by way of an extra module, allowing operators to make multi-component toothbrushes on a standard injection molding machine.
The core pullers needed for controlling the mould are integrated into the injection molding machine, and therefore no core pullers are needed at the injection molding machine itself. The autonomous injection unit is controlled via a Euromap 67 interface.
The Basic Line moulds are available in 4, 8, 12 and 16-cavity design. The drive of the index platen is fully separated from the mould. It is an adapter plate attached to the mould and may be used for different moulds. This perfect low-cost solution of the Basic Line moulds is as much as 30 percent more economical than conventional models.
The Magna T Servo 150 machine on display produces four pre-moldings (TPE) in each cycle and four finished moldings (PP) in a cycle time of 25 seconds.
