Ambiente Giving: meeting place and ordering platform for the international gift trade
New product group: 'Accessories & Jewellery' section creates synergies for the point of sale
The time has come round once again – from 12 to 16 February 2016 the leading world trade fair, Ambiente, becomes a magnet which attracts the international wholesale and retail trade for the dining table, kitchen, household and home, as well as for gifts and giving. Companies and buyers from all over the world meet up here to exhibit and to discover new products, to establish contacts and to extend their business network.
In the 'Giving' product group, visitors to the trade fair will find everything that is currently – and will be, in the future – available for giving as a gift. “The extensive range of our 'Giving' exhibitors is so arranged, that buyers from each and every target group can find and put together an appropriate selection for all occasions and all budgets,” says Yvonne Engelmann, Director Ambiente Giving. Alongside both traditional and more trend-conscious gift items there are also paper and stationery items, fashion accessories, jewellery and watches, as well as beauty and wellness products and smoking requisites. All of the products that lend themselves to being used in core ranges as well as ancillary ones. “That is precisely why the 'Giving' section is a regular attraction for buyers in other retail areas,” continues Ms. Engelmann.
What's new in 'Giving'
Fashion accessories, watches and jewellery, in particular, remain popular gift items. One reason for this is undoubtedly that the market for these product segments is continually growing. According to a recent study conducted on behalf of Messe Frankfurt on “Our everyday companions”, it is likely to continue to do so in the future, too. The sales volumes of jewellery, watches and personal accessories will – according to one set of predictions – rise from € 9.6 billion in 2014 to € 10.7 billion in 2019. And with the new product group 'Accessories & Jewellery', Ambiente is seeking to keep pace with this development. As from the next Ambiente, real, fashion and handmade jewellery, leather goods, bags, belts and other fashion accessories, beauty-care items, wellness products and beauty accessories will all be exhibited together.
Exhibitors such as Biba, Collection Claudia Schmiesing, Concept Art, with their Sweet Deluxe brand, Culture Mix, Dazzl Design, Heide Heinzendorff, Lizas, Roberto Leonardi and Ruppenthal will be exhibiting both real jewellery and fashion & designer jewellery, including pearls and precious stones. Companies like A. Ahmaddy, Bags for Living, The Moshi, Volker Lang and Wilhelm Johann Meier will be showcasing all sorts and kinds of fashion accessories that will be in vogue tomorrow. Beauty products, wellness products and beauty and wellness accessories will also be available, however, from Accentra Kosmetik Accessoires, Bürstenfabrik Keller, Get Fresh Cosmetics, Top Team, Treffina International and many others.
'Time Square' and 'Traveller’s Point' complete the product range on offer in Hall 9.2, with watches, luggage and accessories; an extensive product palette, with a new layout, designed to create a multitude of synergies for both buyers and exhibitors.
New: children and toddlers
Products relating to children provide yet another focal point. Not only do they represent a major market worldwide, children are also a new area of focus at the up-coming Ambiente. Exhibitors like Carletto with their Ty brand products, Donkey Products, Jellycat, Rex International and Tyrrell Katz will be exhibiting in Hall 11.1, where they will showcase some favourite products – both pretty and practical – that will be available in the shops for the younger generation next season.
Giving: a platform for inspiration and orders in the gifts sector
From trendy to classic, from fast selling items to long-standing old favourites, the product range in 'Giving' shows us what people all round the world will be giving each other next season.

Immediately next door, the Pipe & Cigar Show will be taking place in parallel with Ambiente. Following its launch in the winter of 2015, the three-day trade event will, again next February, prove a major attraction for retail tobacconists, as well as for retail shops specialising in gourmet items, gifts and lifestyle products, too.
Anything and everything relating to volume business, together with gifts, stationery, beauty accessories, cosmetics and fashion accessories will find a home in the Passage Gifts section in Hall 10.0.
