The use of salt has been around since the dawn of human civilization and was once a valuable “currency” for trade. Nowadays, as a daily necessity with high accessibility, the application of salt has gone beyond of food seasoning and being used by older generation to wipe their teeth clean!

Buying into this cleaning concept, KR has adopted the source of pink ROCK salt as an additive into its filaments. The rock salt is classified as marine fossil salt, rich in minerals and, more importantly, it does not melt during filament extrusion. 

For functionality, the abrasive salt particles along the filament body increase the friction with teeth which enhances cleaning efficiency. Moreover, with traces of iodine & fluoride, it can help neutralize acids that cause tooth decay. As for color, besides the pink associated with the crystal salt image, other colors are available. 

Based on the natural image of bamboo, and employing the latest 3D embossing technology, KR introduces the newly developed KREX Bamboo Clean filament. Unlike the common tapered filament, the Bamboo Clean is embossed with knots, hence under the light it will shine and reflect light like diamond with sparkling effect. 

Since this filament is designed with the concept of bamboo in mind, its surface embossed with “knots” just like in natural bamboo. This design not only provides a unique appearance for the filament, but also gives high cleaning performance from the knots.

Beside the special appearance, Bamboo Clean filament that can offer a good marketing point when combined with a bamboo-related element in additives such as bamboo salt or bamboo charcoal (from Japan). This can create a unified bamboo theme to market this special filament.

Bamboo charcoal is made up of pieces of bamboo which are taken from plants five years or older and burned inside an oven at temperatures over 800 to 1200°C. 

It benefits environmental protection by reducing pollutant residue. It is an environmentally functional material that has excellent absorption properties. Bamboo charcoal is known to have high porosity. Various impurities or foreign matter will be absorbed over the wide surface area of the charcoal. When air passes over, if the humidity is high, the charcoal will absorb the moisture and the air will be converted to dry air. If the air is too dry, then the charcoal will discharge its own moisture, thus adjusting the humidity in the air.
