Niveta Brush Factory Celebrates 94th Birthday

Throughout its colourful and turbulent history, Niveta brush factory has remained the only major brush manufacturer in Croatia.
The toughest moments came during Yugoslav wars in 1991, when factory found itself on the frontlines and only through dedication of its workers who, under shelling, saved the majority of machines and finished goods and evacuated them to safe locations, it managed to survive and continue doing business. It is interesting to note that the company at one point during the war, operated its dispersed production at 11 different locations, while the original production site, in the vicinity of Osijek, suffered major war destruction. In 1994, the production was finally concentrated in the new factory location in Osijek industrial zone, where it still remains.
Today, Niveta operates a woodworking facility which produces FSC-certified wooden handles and brush bodies as well as classic brush production of household brooms and brushes, wire brushes, paintbrushes and custom-made industrial brushes for various industries with more than 80 employees. More than two-thirds of its turnover is effected on its home market, however the factory continues its efforts to expand exports, especially in the segment of various wooden bodies due to the fact that acceptable prices of domestic raw material enable Niveta to offer internationally competitive prices. The company continues to invest in the quality of its products and work process (ISO 9001 and FSC chain-of-custody certificates) as well as in social and environmental awareness and sponsoring various local community and humanitarian projects.
