Marco Kracht : Italian Flagging Knife Manufacturer to Exhibit at CIBRUSH 2025
Booth #C30
The company Marco Kracht began its activity in the 1950s under the name “Morassi Alfeo.” It was based in Maniago, a town about one hundred kilometres north of Venice, known since the fourteenth century for its blacksmiths who produced swords, blades and other weapons for the Republic of Venice.
In the early 1970s, Morassi Alfeo began producing flagging knives, supplying them mainly to Italian manufacturers of broom-making machines such as Dal Maschio, Borghi, Osmas 3, and Mass.
Morassi Alfeo was essentially a one-man operation located in a single room of the Morassi family home, so its main—and practically only—product was the flagging knife.
In 1992, Mr. Morassi Alfeo sold the company to Mr. Marco Kracht, who changed the company name, although the business remained in Maniago.
In 1993, a new and larger facility was purchased, along with new machinery, allowing the product range to expand to include blades for trimming heads and needles for sewing corn brooms.
Since Mr. Kracht’s family lived in Sesto San Giovanni, a town in the suburbs of Milan, the company was relocated there in 2004 to a larger building. At that time, a new fully automatic production line for flagging knives was also installed.
