Fat Hog Launches New PROAQUA Brush Range

Decorating accessories and sundries brand, Fat Hog, has launched PROAQUA – a synthetic brush range that is perfectly suited to water-based paints.

The PROAQUA brush, which will soon be available from all Johnstone’s Decorating Centres, has been developed specifically to meet the needs of decorators using water-based products, including Johnstone’s Trade Aqua Undercoat, Gloss and Satin.

The new brush, which comes in five different sizes, has been put through its paces during a lengthy and rigorous development and testing process to ensure it performs well in all paints and is in particular, a perfect partner for water-based products. In addition to the intensive technical tests, Fat Hog also invited members of Johnstone’s Big Red Rewards programme to blind test it at various stages, there after using their feedback to fine-tune the brush.

Conal Haythorne, Fat Hog product manager, commented: “Water-based paints are increasing in popularity but can be hard on brushes which require more regular cleaning. As a result, we felt the time was right to develop a synthetic brush to meet the demanding requirements of water-based products.

“The PROAQUA brush has gone through a thorough development and evaluation process and we can be confident that it provides a consistently excellent quality of finish with water-based paints and all other formulations while also providing decorators with great value for money.”

The new product will be officially launched during the National Painting and Decorating Show in Coventry this December, where visitors to the show will be given the opportunity to try it out for themselves and take part in a special competition.
