Masters of diversity in metalworking
Kullen-Koti offers a wide selection of strip and sealing brushes

If there were a versatility contest for technical brushes, Kullen-Koti strip and sealing brushes would win hands-down. These universal all-rounders beat practically any other brush series when it comes to application versatility and ease of mounting. Particularly in the case of mechanical engineering firms seeking durable solutions for sealing, guiding, stripping, moving, braking and pressing, it is worth while taking a closer look at the wide range of strip and sealing brushes offered by brush manufacturer Kullen-Koti.

Depending on the type and design, Kullen-Koti strip and sealing brushes come with a profile made of steel, aluminium or plastic, with filling materials ranging from horsehair, plastic bristles or abrasive filaments to plant fibres or wire. These masters of versatility among technical brushes are available designed as flexible or rigid strips, or in an arched or closed ring shape. The renowned manufacturer can also produce non-standard shapes to individual customer order. Typical applications for Kullen-Koti strip and sealing brushes in the machine and plant engineering sector include sealing housing doors in machining centres, stripping chips from clamping tools or shaft sealing. When used as sealing brushes, they provide ideal protection against dust and dirt, draughts, damp, light, heat and noise. When used in a stripping function, they play an invaluable role in ensuring technical cleanliness, and providing quality assurance and process optimization.
Thanks to the mechanical flexibility of their fill materials, strip and sealing brushes provide a decisive benefit compared to other types of seal: They adjust to the properties of their contact surface with absolute ease. This flexibility makes them ideal for cleaning and stripping threads, workpieces with uneven surfaces and even moving machine parts. In addition, these brushes can be designed to be resistant to heat, allowing them to perform their function even in production environments at high temperatures. When it comes to the choice of colour for the profiles and fillers, depending on the materials used, Kullen-Koti offers practically any shade from the RAL scale.
Because the manufacturer supplies the brush profiles ready for installation, mounting strip and sealing brushes from Kullen-Koti is fast and simple. Depending on customer requirements and the application in question, the profiles permit either fixture using holders or insertion into grooves. Other proven connection methods for strip and sealing brushes include screwing on, gluing on or clamping.

A special strip and sealing brush variant is the Quick Seal series. These are highly flexible plastic brushes supplied on 25 metre rolls in handy corrugated cardboard boxes. Users pull out the required length of brush from a slit in the box and simply cut off the amount of the flexible strip as they require for the given application. As the Quick Seal brush strip is only between 0.6 and 3.00 mm thick, it can be simply cut to size using shears or side cutters. In this case, the brush can be fastened in place using double-sided adhesive tape, screw connection or with the aid of a slide-in profile. The Quick Seal brush is resistant to UV, ozone and chemicals, and is designed for application temperatures of between -40° C and +125°C.
