High Quality Abrasive Filaments
Filkemp has been producing abrasive monofilaments based on PA6, PA6.10 and PA6.12 for polishing and deburring tools for the automotive and metal industry, decorative stones and textile industry, as well as for floor care and other markets since 2011. In this innovative business area, Filkemp aims to be one of the world’s biggest producers in the near future.
For polishing and deburring processes under extremely difficult conditions, high performance thermoplastics (also called semi-crystalline polymers) are used to ensure optimum thermal resistance and stiffness recovery capabilities. To improve grit fixation within the polymer matrix, as well as thermal and chemical resistance, highly effective stabilizers are added during the extrusion process.
Which raw material is best suited for a given application depends on individual working conditions. During the abrasive filament development, special care is taken on filament stiffness, grit distribution and fixation within the polymer matrix.
