For more than 200 years, the fabrication of brooms and brushes has been at home in our rural area. We are situated in Saxony/Germany, within the Ore Mountains and close to the border to Czech Republic. The impact of this specific craft is mirrored in our economy and culture and, therefore, annually celebrated during the “Bürstenmacherfest“- a festivity organized by our local brushmakers.

Over the course of the festival, brushmakers open their doors for the interested crowds, offer tours through their production facilities and have highlights for the whole family in store. The event locations are connected by a narrow-gauge railway - visitors can board the train which is hauled by a steam locomotive.

This year the range of our “Bürstenmacherfest/ Brushmaker Festival” will be even greater:

We are planning a brushware market with providers from different parts of Europe. This will take place on Saturday, 9th of September at the premises of the company BÜMAG eG, Hauptstraße 174, 08328 Schönheide, Germany.

We are currently looking for brush manufacturers or vendors who would be interested in running a sales booth at our market. This is a fantastic opportunity to give visitors a unique insight into the world of brushes and to promote your own company and products.
