Strong Industry Engagement Marks Debut of interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair with IFMAC & WOODMAC

The inaugural interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia concluded their debut editions alongside the long-standing IFMAC & WOODMAC from 24–27 September 2025 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. Together, the three events formed Southeast Asia’s most comprehensive industry platform, showcasing the full supply chain of furniture production, interior design, hardware, woodworking machinery, and components. Across 17,832 sqm of exhibition space, the integrated platform welcomed 13,689 trade visitors and hosted 482 exhibitors from 49 countries. The strong turnout reflected Indonesia’s growing role as a central hub for design, production, and manufacturing innovation in the region.

“This debut has given us a strong starting point for developing interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia into long-term platforms for the region. In 2026, we aim to welcome even more international companies, national pavilions, and collaborators, reflecting a promising market and the increasing footprint of these industries in Southeast Asia. With the continued support of exhibitors, partners, and visitors, we look forward to strengthening Jakarta’s role as a central meeting point for innovation, sustainability, and business opportunities,” said Mathias Kuepper, Managing Director & Vice President Asia-Pacific, Koelnmesse Pte Ltd.

“By bringing together IFMAC & WOODMAC’s strong reputation with the debut of interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia, we have created a truly end-to-end platform for the industry. This collaboration ensures that every part of the supply chain — from raw materials and machinery to fittings, components, and finished solutions — can be found under one roof in Jakarta,” said Rini Sumardi, Director of Wakeni.

The Re:Create Stage emerged as a focal point of knowledge and inspiration, attracting strong attendance across its three-day programme. Engaging sessions addressed pressing themes such as circular materials, multifunctional design, and alternative material ecosystems. Highlights included the Indonesian Society of Interior Designers (HDII) session on “Designing Multifunctional Furniture: Challenges and Solutions”, presented by Karina L Cheung and Yudhistira A.P. Harahap, and PLAYO’s session “Matter-Reality: Alternative Material Ecosystem in Indonesia” delivered by Alia Sarastita, Arka Irfani, Genie Anggita, and Adil Alba.

Visitors also highlighted the Re:Create Stage as one of the most valuable features of the show. “The topic has given me practical insights that I can apply directly to my projects. It was a meaningful complement to the exhibition floor and one of the most valuable parts of the show,” said Deasi Dianasari, Ambassador of the Asia- Pacific Space Designers’ Association (APSDA).

“I see this exhibition as a hidden gem. Not many people know about it yet, but it showcases a wide range of local and international brands — from generic to high- end. It really shows that Indonesia has strong potential to compete, even with products from China or Germany. Awareness will take time to grow, but I believe this event has a bright future and will only attract more attention,” said Dimas Gepeto, DIY Influencer.

Exhibitors also reflected on the opportunities Jakarta provides as a growing market and gateway to Southeast Asia. “Indonesia is an interesting and dynamic market, with a growing furniture sector driven by urbanisation. As a global player in furniture exports, the country will require companies to invest in the latest production technologies to stay competitive. For European suppliers like us, Indonesia will be an increasingly important market in the future. interzum jakarta has given us a valuable entry point to connect with buyers and professionals from across Southeast Asia,” said Philipp Senft, Manager International, Lamello AG.

Aaron Boo, Managing Director of Phyta Asia, added: “We joined interzum jakarta because we feel that Indonesia is a continuously growing market, and it is one of the countries with the highest sales for Phyta software. Over the past few days, we feel that interzum jakarta has been quite good. We were able to meet many potential customers and various partners in this industry.”

From the hardware side, “International Hardware Fair Indonesia enabled us to connect with both local distributors and international buyers in one place. The visitor mix reflects exactly the market we want to reach,” said Torben Kloska, Sales Manager, Brockhaus HEUER.

With interzum jakarta and International Hardware Fair Indonesia making their debut alongside the long-standing IFMAC & WOODMAC, Jakarta has now reinforced its position as Southeast Asia’s key meeting point for the furniture, design, hardware, and woodworking industries. The three events will return from 23–26 September 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, continuing to offer an integrated platform where global trends, new technologies, and sustainable practices converge to shape the industries of tomorrow.
