Continuing Griffon’s and AMES’ strategy of acquiring and growing leadership brands, I am pleased to announce AMES’ acquisition of Harper Brush Works (Harper), a cleaning tools business founded in 1899 in Fairfield, Iowa. Harper manufacturers and sells a full line of cleaning products including push brooms, mops, buckets and dustpans.

Harper is a leader in the push broom category for professional applications with distribution at Lowe’s, The Home Depot, industrial suppliers and other AMES distribution channels. Harper’s leadership role in push brooms allows AMES to expand into the category and build upon the success of the historic and well-known Harper brand and their experience in the cleaning category.

Harper’s US manufacturing complements AMES’ expertise in manufacturing wood handled tools. We are excited about sharing best practices and leverage our collective knowledge to grow AMES. Harper will continue to operate as a separate business within the AMES portfolio. There will be no disruption to Harper’s day-to-day operations and activities.
