MGG Focus on the North American Market: Attending the ABMA 105th Annual Convention

MGG had an excellent experience at the 105th Annual Convention of ABMA (American Brush Manufacturers Association) held in Bonita Springs, Florida from 02 to 04 March 2022. This was an important step for MGG which has been associated with the ABMA since last year through its sister company MGG NA based in Charlotte, North Carolina, which aims to serve the important USMCA (formerly NAFTA) market even more closely.

The event was attended by more than 60 companies from the brush industry. MGG, was one of the European companies present at the convention; a celebrated, well-established Italian company in the brush technology sector that has established an office in the USA.

"We are very satisfied with the welcome and interest shown throughout the Convention and in the face-to-face meetings with US brush makers, with whom we were able to start a discussion on production needs", reports Mr. Voltolina.

MGG in the USA
Our decision to have a direct presence in the USA paid off at the ABMA Convention: A reassurance for North American brush manufacturers of our commitment and our ability to follow customers closely. A new local MGG NA Service team has been already set up with some mechatronics specialists and a new warehouse in Charlotte for strategic long-term supply parts will be up and running shortly.

Next month, the Service North American team will be reinforced with a new resource, an experienced Italian technician who has lived in the USA for 10 years. The structure of MGG North America, headed by Alberto Voltolina, a mechanical engineer with more than 10 years of experience in the US and Mexican markets, is doing capillary work on the territory, following both the commercial development and the implementation of continuous technical assistance service activities.

"The most important job for us at MGG is to follow the market according to the expectations of the American paintbrushes manufacturers, who demand continuous technical assistance with experts able to carry out constant inspections and ensure periodic on-site assistance for the best possible follow-up of our machines and systems integrated in a 100% automated production line," says Alberto Voltolina. "And with the ready-to-deliver spare parts warehouse in North Carolina, which is barycentrically located with respect to the North American brush industry, MGG will be able to ensure short lead times for spare parts, starting with essential electronic components".

The MGG innovation for 100% automated production of angular brushes
We know how the North American structural brush market is developing with significant volumes and established product types, such as especially angle brushes used in the construction and marine industries. And in this important area, MGG has introduced to the North American market the world's first machine capable of vulcanizing the production of angle brushes together with the head-making machine at the beginning of the production cycle.

In September 2022 MGG will supply Delaware Paintbrush Works with the first inclined vulcanizing machine in the US, which is able to operate in the vulcanization process with two different inclinations with respect to the X-axis. This feature allows the angular brush to be kept at right angles to the production axis, thus ensuring optimal conditions for automated production. The benefit of this MGG technology, developed over the years and patented, is in fact to evenly distribute the level of glue and resin between the butt of the handle and the bristles or filaments of the angle brush.

Not only automation for brushes
MGG North America is not limited to the paintbrush and roller markets only! With MGG Robotics, which operates in the field of industrial automation in various sectors (automotive, food & beverage, medical, packaging), the industrial automation offer will be developed also in the US market.
