Brazil Housewares Industry Presents 2022/2023 Color Trends in the U.S.

Converted plastic products for home use should follow 3 macro color groups – Innovative, Traditional, and Pop – featuring typical Brazilian tones such as “Coconut Candy;” “Macaw Red,” and “Achiote”

With the participation of 30 converted plastics companies at The Inspired Home Show (#TIHS2022 Chicago, March 5-7, 2022) the Think Plastic Brazil, the Portfolio of Solutions for the Export and Internationalization of Brazilian Converted Plastics, created by the National Plastics Institute (INP) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), will be presenting, for the first time abroad, the Color Trend 2022, a trend book signed by writer Walter Rodrigues that presents the colors of this year and the next for the Housewares sector.

“This will be one of the most important Brazilian participations at The Inspired Home Show – with a privileged location and 241 square meters of exhibition area after two editions canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Carlos Moreira, Project Strategy and Planning Manager.

The Brazilian companies that will be located at the address N7533 (north pavilion) are: <OR> Martiplast; Arthi; Botafogo Home & Leisure; Condor S/A; Crippa; Delo Industria e Comercio Ltda.; Di Solle Inox Brazil; Estamparia de Alumínio Oliveira Ltda; Fame; Floridis; Indústria Bandeirante; Jaguar Plásticos; Kos Acrylics; Lolly Baby; Maxeb; Mecânica e Estamparia São Bernardo Ltda.; Metaltru; Nitron; Plasnew Utilidades Domésticas Ltda.; Plásticos Santana; Plasútil Indústria e Comércio De Plásticos Ltda.; Plasvale; Santa Maria; Simonaggio; Termolar S.A.; Uz Utilidades; Vasap Design; Vasart; VEM; e Vouga Décor.

Color Trend

The Color Trends 2021/2022 International Trend Guide works with the words that define Brazil in the eyes of foreigners – Affection, Joy, Hospitality – through colors.

The idea is to spread the colors of Brazil to the world, and the country is rich in colors such as blue, yellow, and pink, as well as shades of green and red. Each region has its own color chart – the South is more wintery, for example, while the North is an explosion of color and joy. Inspirations were developed for three consumer profiles: Innovators (mainly Gen-Z), Traditionalists, and Pop,” said Walter Rodrigues.

Brazilian companies Crippa, Dello Plasútil, Termolar, <OR>, Martiplast, Plasvalle, Simonaggio, Vasart Vouga Décor, VEM and Di Solle will be participating in an exhibition at the Brazilian booth with items from the three abovementioned profiles. Pictured are a few examples of products in the colors identified by Color Trend.

Trending Today

For the first time, Brazilian companies (Di Solle, Vouga Décor, and Santa Maria) will be participating in Trending Today, an exhibition of products and companies selected by the show’s curators, based on the Healthy @Home trend. The event is limited to 60 companies and is exclusive to buyers and the press. It will be held on March 5, in the event’s pavilion.

Approved products
  • Santa Maria - 100% recycled PET cleaning products and brushes with high resistance/durability
  • Di Solle - Inova Line - Bactericidal action applied to products
  • Vouga Decor - Harmonic vases dedicated to Live Good, Feel Good

Retail Tour and Promenade

In addition to the exhibition at the show, member companies of Think Plastic Brazil will be given a tour guide to the main Housewares addresses in Chicago, enabling a market analysis known as the Retail Tour. They will also be taken on a guided tour of the show, called the Promenade.

Pantone Colorwatch Display

In addition to bringing the studied color trend from Brazil to the world, five Brazilian companies were selected, for the first time in the history of the country’s participation in the event, to make up the Pantone Colorwatch Display, a display of pieces in the colors defined as trends by the company in a decorated environment. They are: <OR> Martiplast, Plasútil, Termolar, VEM, and Vouga Décor.

Global Design Point

Another Brazilian highlight at the international event is the participation, with 3 exhibitor modules, of the Global Design Point, an exhibition that invites members to travel around the world while in Chicago. These showcases are awarded to country-specific pavilions, offering an insight into emerging trends in various areas around the world.

Countries represented: Brazil (3 displays), Colombia, Egypt, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, South Korea, Thailand, and Turkey.
