HTFilament: Special Filaments for Extreme Conditions

HTFilament, a Czech company and a member of Wöhler Holding group, produces unique heat-resistant and abrasive filaments that excel in demanding applications. These filaments boast exceptional qualities, including high thermal endurance, abrasion resistance, elasticity and chemical resistance.
“Our filaments are ideal for situations where traditional materials fall short,” says the Managing Director, Jaroslav Markvart.

HTFilament offers two primary filament types: Aramid filaments and polyetheretherketone (PEEK) filaments.

Heat resistant filaments: HTF2 and HTF4

Known for their exceptional thermal endurance, aramid filaments (HTF2) surpass other synthetic brush filaments in this regard. Beyond their remarkable heat resistance, they offer high stiffness, excellent processing characteristics and exceptional longevity.

Applications of HTF2:
  • Transporting hot products (conveyor belts)
  • Cleaning injection molds
  • Deburring plastic castings
  • Perforating food packaging foils
  • Product fixation
PEEK Filaments (HTF4), composed of polyetheretherketone, demonstrate outstanding performance at high temperatures and in chemically aggressive environments. Compared to HTF2 aramid filaments, they offer greater flexibility, making them suitable for applications where filaments experience significant mechanical stress.

Applications of HTF4:
  • Transporting and washing food (FDA-compliant)
  • Cleaning printed circuit boards (PCB) and surface mount technology (SMT) components
  • Deburring plastic castings
  • Product fixation
Abrasive Filaments: HTF3 and HTF5

Both aramid and PEEK filaments can be enhanced with abrasive materials, such as synthetic diamonds, silicon carbide (SiC), cubic boron nitride (CBN), or aluminum oxide (Al2O3).

These abrasive filaments surpass conventional options with several advantages, including significantly longer lifespans, reduced operating costs, high thermal endurance (up to 270°C), and self-cleaning properties. They are ideally suited for technical brushes used in superfinishing, deburring, polishing, and surface structuring operations.
