Many manufacturers in the painting tools industry have realized the power of social media in helping to promote current products to new markets and/or new products to current markets. However, in this saturated digital age it is crucial to involve your audience as much as possible. That is why Peta let Facebook users get a chance to name a new product!

The company decided to launch an easy-to-use paint roller suitable for emulsion paints, with an extendable handle. In a specially designed post in early June, DIY users could use a Facebook key to choose 1 of 4 potential names. These were: Special Roller, High Roller, Roll & Go and Rock & Roller. In the end, “Special Roller” came out on top receiving approximately 48% of the votes.

The company gave away gift bundles (1 roller, 1 paint overall and 1 Peta hat) to 5 random winners.

The product packaging was finalized end June and the product launched early July!
