Since our humble beginnings in 1951, Precision Brush has put together nearly 100,000 different brush configurations. There are seemingly infinite combinations of brush materials and types of brushes that can be designed to fit a given purpose.

Brushes can often even replace other tools, accomplishing their assigned task more effectively. From rubber squeegees, to flap wheels or scrapers, to water jets, brushes may do a better job, or they may complement existing applications to produce the highest quality results. Even after all our years in business, people still come to us on a regular basis with fresh, new brush ideas we’ve never heard before. 

We were once hired to create special brushes for cleaning the Statue of Liberty and all of her folded metal, rivets, and unique shapes. Another interesting set of brushes we manufactured were for an art installation with chairs that were crafted to look like they had horse manes coming off the back. Sure, most brushes we design are used in manufacturing, but the possibilities are endless.

Certain brush ideas wax and wane over time in terms of usefulness. For example, not many people use record cleaning brushes anymore, though avid vinyl collectors or specialty record sales shops may still wish to order them. 

Emerging technologies also have a significant impact on brush ideas, often calling for brush designs that have never before been implemented. Brushes made in support of high-tech applications — such as robots involved in factory production — are a great example of this. Brushes are even used to clean the dust off of collection tools on the Mars rovers. The tools need to be cleaned between taking samples, so brushes are an integral part of the overall functionality of these sophisticated machines.
