The 500th anniversary of the death of Leonardo da Vinci was celebrated on May 2, 2019. To mark this occasion, the Nuremberg-based artist brush factory da Vinci DEFET GmbH, published a limited edition “Series 1519” in honour of this universal genius of the Renaissance. The edition is limited to 500 pieces, of which already approx. 350 pieces were reserved within a very short time. This selected brush is packed in a high-quality black cardboard slipcase. For transportation, there is a high-quality velvet soft leather case enclosed.

This brush is made of pure Kolinsky red sable hair, shaped piece by piece by a master's hand and, according to tradition, carefully tied by wire onto a specially developed handle made of so-called raffir wood with an Ethergraf ® metal tip at the end. With this non-toxic metal tip you can draw and sketch on many modern papers.

Each brush is unique due to the lasered serial number and the carefully selected handle material. They have been personally tested during the production process and approved by Julian Rottner Defet, managing director and head of production. A certificate is enclosed with each brush.
