12th Interbrush Update: 27th–29th April 2016, Messe Freiburg
The excitement kicks off again at the end of April 2016. The 12th Interbrush, the most important trade fair and global meeting point of the entire brush and broom industry, is taking place in Freiburg. Around 200 exhibitors from 30 countries will be presenting raw materials, semi-finished products and machines across an exhibition area of 21,500 m². Some 7,000 experts from more than 85 different coun-tries are expected at the industry meeting point, which takes place every four years.
By the autumn of 2015, over 95 percent of hall space had been booked. This goes to show that Marco Minelli, CEO of the Minelli Group, is right in saying that “being here is an absolute must: Interbrush represents our industry’s most important meeting point!” 98 percent of exhibitors at the 2012 Interbrush had announced they would be back for the next event and 87 per-cent of visitors were sure that they would return to the 2016 edition of the leading trade fair. These are figures that other trade fairs can only dream of, figures which have since been confirmed: Today, in February 2016, all halls are fully booked, all market leaders and major producers are registered, and hotel enquiries for the trade fair date are rocketing. Everyone knows that the Freiburg event is unique in bringing together the whole industry, allowing direct contact with important and interesting companies.
The trade fair features raw materials, semi-finished products and machines. Associations and manufacturers have observed that companies in the brush and broom industry tend to postpone (replacement) investments until the next Interbrush, where they can find out about state-of-the-art technologies and predict which types of machines the industry (and thus their competition) are likely to produce in the years to come. Freiburg regularly becomes a showcase for the latest developments, including prototypes that provide a glimpse of the future.
Visitors and exhibitors are international, hailing from countries such as Algeria, Belgium, China, Germany, France, Italy, Lithuania, the Russian Federation, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Hungary or the United States. It is no exaggeration to say that the world is meeting at Interbrush, is meeting in Freiburg.
The opportunity to learn about the latest industry developments is not the only reason that exhibitors and visitors alike flock to Freiburg: The romantic city in one of Germany’s most beautiful regions, with its historic buildings and culinary delights (the number of star-studded restaurants and first-class vineyards in Southern Baden is second to none!) attracts people to Interbrush once every four years. The figures confirm that the mixture of work and relaxation is attractive. The industry platform has steadily developed and grown over the years. “It would be downright irresponsible to miss Freiburg,” explains Hans Zahn of the Head Office of the German Brush Manufacturers’ Association, underlining the importance of the Interbrush trade fair.
2016 brings a new attraction: In addition to the usual exhibition at the Messe, the French and German brush associations will be presenting the special exhibition “From broom to art” at the historic Meckelhalle, located at Sparkasse Freiburg on Kaiser- Joseph-Strasse. The exhibition opening on the 26th April will also mark the official opening of Interbrush, which is taking place from 27th – 29th April.
Interbrush 2016 is a must, as it unites “the representatives of a small yet highly developed industry that breathes high-tech products and constant innovation,” so Pierre Simler, president of the FEIBP European Brushware Federation.
