German Brushware Industry Announcement
The Association of German Tool Manufacturers (FWI), Remscheid is consigned to adopt the activities of the Association of German Brushware Producers (VDPB). Five years after the fusion of VDPB and FWI the VDPB is creating a new future for its branch. Dieter Lessmann, President of VDPB is positive about „professionalizing the association´s work“ with the assistance of FWI and „putting synergy and impulsion for the affairs of our 100 members.“ Most of the members are managed as family-run companies.
The branch of the German Brushware Industry has its traditional regional focus in Bechhofen / Bavaria, in Todtnau / Baden-Württemberg, in Bad Lauterberg / Niedersachsen and in Vogtland.
Preferential for the VDPB-work, Lessmann points out, is the survival of the occupation of brushmakers requiring formal training and preserving the traditions of this business.
Rainer Langelüddecke, Director of FWI and in charge with the VDPB-office, points to the various fields of application in different sectors of hygiene and health, household, craftsmanship and industry.
The Federal Statistics Office reports a volume of sales of some 721 Mio. Euro in that branch (companies with more than 50 employees). The volume of sales spreads by 60 % to the home market and 40 % predominantly to European countries.
From April 27th – 29th, 2016 in Freiburg the INTERBRUSH takes place in its interval of four years. The INTERBRUSH is the main fair of its branch and a major international exhibition. 200 exhibitors from 29 countries have been represented in 2012. 7000 visitors from 85 countries came to Freiburg. Semi-finished goods, raw materials, semi-finished material and the newest trends of the machine sector will be presented.
