Truestar Tools celebrated it's 5th birthday at the 2017 National Painting & Decorating Show, which was held at the end of November in Coventry, UK. November 2016 saw the introduction of the Excelsior Paint Brush, a slight semi-oval constructed brush that made a welcomed addition to the existing flat style of brushes such as the much loved MF & Masterpiece brushes already in the range. Initially created as a limited edition 'show piece' brush set for the 2016 Painting & Decorating Show, the Excelsior brushes were put into full production & launched as a permanent addition to the Truestar product range at this year's show following their tremendous success & phenomenal reviews from those in the trade. 

With the Truestar heartbeat so close to the trade & due to the immense popularity of the Excelsior Brush Sets, Truestar Director & Founder, Tilly Brown, realised that she could do some good & give a little something back to the trade with the Excelsior brush sets, so decided to support the Band of Builders Charity by donating £5.00 from every Excelsior Brush Set sold at the show & throughout 2018 directly to them.

"The Band of Builders Charity is one that is very close to my heart & a story that should captivate & inspire anyone within the industry. Founded by Addam Smith, just one man who wanted to help his friend & employee Keith Ellick, when he was diagnosed with terminal cancer; the group has since grown to be an incredible global movement of over 8000 members, that is made up of just ordinary tradespeople that selflessly give up their time for free to do extraordinary things to help other tradespeople in their darkest days. It is Truestar's goal to be able to donate at least £10,000 to them to help fund future projects so that they can continue with the marvellous work that they do."
