Environmental Management at ZAHORANSKY

For our company, as the leading technical enterprise in the sectors of machinery and equipment for brushes and brooms, packaging, mold construction, medical technology and automation, environmental protection is an inherent part of our philosophy and corporate policy. We are reducing our own carbon footprint and support others in transitioning to sustainable management. Our energy and environmental management help us achieve goals and use resources more efficiently. Some of our implementations to date include:

We have switched our lighting to energy-saving LED light sources at five out of six locations
For our in-house company transport between the Todtnau and Freiburg locations, we have made three electric vehicles available; another one will be provided at the end of this year
We have relied on 100% renewable energy for our electricity procurement since 2012. But we don’t just consume electricity, we also produce it ourselves. At four of our ZAHORANSKY Group locations we produce our own electricity with 1550 photovoltaic panels and an installed capacity of 420 kWp. By doing this, we reduce the average CO2 emissions in power generation by a total of 2,225 tons
By introducing our paper-free production, we have managed to reduce our paper consumption by 40% in just five years – because our focus on sustainability and resource conservation even includes our waste
Our waste is used as raw materials for new materials wherever possible

By implementing both big and small value-creative concepts, we achieve sustainable management for more stability and safety for our environment and the continued existence of our company. We have not only understood our environmental responsibility, but our instincts also help us to make use of the opportunities for sustainable development arising from ever-changing market conditions.
