20 Percent More Exhibitors Now Using the Fundamentally Renewed Tendence
Ready to inspire visitors with expanded product groups and practice- oriented special shows, the fundamentally renewed Tendence opens its doors on Saturday, 24 June 2017. The extensive range of products is aimed at the retail trade and includes a supplementary section for bulk buyers. Germany’s longest-running trade fair continues to be an order platform and networking event for the European trade. However, it has also been given a future-oriented task – to be a sales tool for the retail trade.
“Our strategy for Tendence is bearing fruit. With 1,125 exhibitors, the fair has grown by over 20 percent compared to last year”, says Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt. In 2016, 943 exhibitors took part in the fair1. “Our primary objective with the new Tendence is to offer visitors innovative solutions for a competitive future”, adds Braun.
Tendence as an opportunity
To attract greater consumer attention in the fiercely competitive retail trade, retailers need innovative assortments, appealing product presentations, high-profile events and sustainable customer-retention programmes. With, for example, the Tendence.Impulse pilot project, the industry has joined forces with Messe Frankfurt to support the trade in exactly these points. This special area in Hall 11.0 will provide answers to the question, which mix of activities is relevant for which retailers with regard to which customer target group, from 24 to 27 June 2017 – and online thereafter for all participating visitors the whole year round.
Another source of ideas is the exemplary Concept Store exhibition in Hall 9.0. There, the emphasis is on the composition of core and supplementary assortments and their presentation at the point of sale, illustrated by the subjects of ‘Cool Materials’ and ‘Mix of Fun’.
Additionally, the Outdoor Living area presents answers to the question, how can the balcony, terrace or garden be made an inviting extension of the living room?
Altogether, exhibitors from 54 nations (2016: 431) will be presenting their companies and collections on 92,000 (2016: 82,3001) square metres of exhibition space (gross). After Germany, the largest exhibitor contingents come from China, the Netherlands, India, Denmark, Italy, Sweden, Vietnam, the United Kingdom, Poland and Switzerland so that 50 percent of all exhibitors now come from outside Germany (2016: 35 percent1)
Two Seasons, one Date
In accordance with the Tendence motto – two seasons, one date – the focus for trade visitors to the fair is not only on the autumn / winter season of 2017 but also the spring / summer 2018 season. The product spectrum at the fair is sub-divided into the following product groups: Lovely Home (Hall 8.0), Seasonal Decoration (Hall 8.0), Pure & Elegant (Hall 9.0), International Sourcing (Hall 10.1), Outdoor Living (outdoor area F11), Gift Classics (Hall 9.1), Young Gifts (Hall 11.0), Culinary Gifts (Hall 11.0) and Accessories & Jewellery (Hall 11.1).
